Rules

1. Play nice! It’s up to every community member to make this a friendly place to be. Everyone has their opinions, but try to express them in a way that doesn't offend. Offensive, threatening or discriminatory behaviour will result in information being removed and a possible ban. Remember too that people of all ages use this site. If you spot unsuitable behaviour, report it.

2. Anyone is allowed to use this site; young and old.
a. If you are under 18, please do not state this on the site and please check that your parents are aware you are using the site. They may have some tips for you to help keep you safe.

b.
If you are a parent and wish your children to use this site, please be aware that it is an open site and we cannot control who visits.

c.
Useful reading for online safety for children can be found at the ChatDanger website   and the NSPCC website.

d. Please don't talk about sex, don't include hyperlinks to unsuitable or pornographic websites, and no swearing! Instead, behave as you would around young relatives.

3. Be careful when adding any contact details to the site on your profile and in forums. The only personal information given at registration that is public on the site, is your username.

4. Please don't choose a username that implies you are an All About Pets or Blue Cross staff member, that could lead to you being confused with a moderator, or that includes offensive language. For technical reasons, usernames cannot be changed.

5. If you own the rights for a photo, it’s fine to use it. If not, please don’t, because we’ll have to remove them, and that’d be a shame for you.

6. Please don’t use photos of other people on your profile – be proud!

7. Please don’t use photos of other people’s pets, just your own.

8. Any advertisements will be removed from the site, unless you ask first! This doesn’t include advertising an event, which of course you are very welcome to do in the events near you area.

9. Please keep ideas for groups to a reasonably sensible theme, nothing rude, upsetting or offensive.

10. It is fine for animal charities to be mentioned on the site. However, we will not tolerate the site being used to sell animals or to advertise breeders or breeding services.

11. Our pets often suffer from ailments of one kind or another and we understand that its good to talk them through with friends, but please consult your vet for advice too.

12. The Blue Cross advocates training based on kindness and reward. Any posting that involves punishment-based training techniques will be removed and the poster liable to a ban.

13. Be careful what you say. If it’s potentially libelous it will be removed.

15. If you would to close your All About Pets profile, please email editor@allaboutpets.org.uk. Your account will be frozen and any forum posts you have made will remain but will appear on the site as being written by an anonymous user. If you are the creator of a group, please let us know.

16. The Blue Cross runs the All About Pets website and any donations are gratefully received. The funds will help care for the pets in need at our centres and hospitals.
